A magnificent river alive
with combative speckled trout.
A unique place
The “Seigneurie Olaf” outfitter is located in Quebec’s Monts-Valin massif, approximately 25 kilometers north of the Saguenay River. The area is formed of particularly rugged landforms, with some summits reaching to more than 800 meters (2,700 feet) in altitude. Many deep valleys split this high plateau, one of which is the valley of the Olaf River.
Because of its high altitude, the “Seigneurie OLAF” outfitters enjoys special meteorological conditions, otherwise know as a microclimate. The temperature is generally much cooler there than in the surrounding terrain and the cold waters to be found there ensure exceptionally good fishing all season long.
The outfitters hold exclusive rights to all hunting and fishing within an area of 98,1 km2.
You may enjoy sport fishing for brook trout in the more than 30 lakes available in this territory, as well as in the river, which extends for approximately 10 kilometers, almost half of which can be waded in easily.
The crystalline waters of this magnificent river meander through staggeringly beautiful wilderness. The Olaf River is home to great quantities of combative speckled trout. The various streams and watercourses available in this territory offer an exhilarating fishing experience to all. Indigenous speckled trout abound in the dozens of easily accessible lakes.
Localisation
Access to the site is retalively easy. There are two very good forestry roads which lead to our outfitters camp: the C-900 which travels through the Chauvin ZEC and the L 200 which crosses the Martin-Valin ZEC.
To reach the vicinity of our outfitters territory you must first take route 172 which links Tadoussac to Chicoutimi (now known as Ville de Saguenay). Then you take the main road leading to the Chauvin ZEC (C-900) and travel 56 kilometers (approximately 45 minutes) until you reach a fork on the right-hand side of the road. This fork (about 8 kilometers long) leads to our lodges.
It is also possible to reach our site by travelling on the main forestry road to the Martin-Valin ZEC (L 200) until you reach kilometer 26, then by turning right towards “lac des Brumes” or “lac des Six Mille”. These secondary roads join the C-900 which leads to the Boisaco logging camp. From there you need only take the road at kilometer 56 which leads to our territory. Strategically positioned roads signs allow travellers to reach our camp easily.
A well-planned site which allows
for rest, relaxation and tranquility.
